When you start seeing this as a life-long journey, you will begin to think about these things as habits that will last a lifetime. Think about the healthiest woman you know. Does she have any patterns or things she practices regularly? I would guess she totally does! You can become the healthiest version of yourself by becoming a fit girl yourself and building your own habits, today!

Choose Healthy Food and Drinks

Taking control of your diet involves making sensible choices about the quantity and quality of the food you eat, as well as the drinks you consume. Try to substitute foods high in sugar, salt, and unhealthy fats with healthier options like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean protein, and fat-free or low-fat dairy.

  • Fruits and Vegetables. Make half of your plate fruits and vegetables. Dark green, red, and orange vegetables have high levels of the nutrients you need, like vitamin C, calcium, and fiber. Adding tomato and spinach—or any other available greens that you like—to your sandwich is an easy way to get more veggies in your meal.
  • Grains. Choose whole grains like whole-wheat bread, brown rice, oatmeal, and whole-grain cereal, instead of refined-grain cereals, white bread, and white rice.
  • Protein. Power up with low fat or lean meats like turkey or chicken, and other protein-rich foods, such as seafood, egg whites, beans, nuts, and tofu.
  • Dairy. Build strong bones with fat-free or low-fat milk products. If you can’t digest lactose—the sugar in milk that can cause stomach pain or gas—choose lactose-free milk or soy milk with added calcium. Fat-free or low-fat yogurt is also a good source of dairy food.

Other Healthy Eating Tips

  • Try to limit foods like cookies, candy, frozen desserts, chips, and fries, which often have a lot of sugar, unhealthy fat, and salt.
  • For a quick snack, try recharging with a pear, apple, or banana; a small bag of baby carrots; or hummus with sliced veggies.
  • Don’t add sugar to your food and drinks.
  • Drink fat-free or low-fat milk and avoid sugary drinks. Soda, energy drinks, sweet tea, and some juices have added sugars, a source of extra calories.

Drink Plenty Of Water Throughout The Day

It is very important for fit girls to stay hydrated by drinking at least eight 8-ounce glasses of water each day. If you are following a workout routine, you may need even more water.

One way to lose weight is to drink a glass of water before each meal or snack. The water will make you feel fuller, so you’ll eat less throughout the day. Water also helps your digestive system work better, makes your metabolism faster, and gives your body more energy!

Never Skip Breakfast

If you want to be healthy, you should make sure to have a healthy breakfast. Having a healthy breakfast will make it more likely that you will make healthier decisions for the rest of the day. If you skip breakfast, you are more likely to eat unhealthy food later in the day.

If you skip meals, you might think you’re losing weight. But if you end up eating more later to make up for it, you could end up gaining weight. Follow these tips to keep your body charged up all day and to stay healthy:

You should eat breakfast every day to help your body get going. If you’re short on time in the morning, you can grab something to go, like an apple or banana.

If you want to control your portions and make sure you eat your food, pack your lunch for school.

When you eat dinner with your family, you are more likely to consume healthy foods. This is because you are able to have meals together and reconnect with each other. You are also able to share news about your day which makes the whole experience more enjoyable.

Choose a favorite grocery store and help others in your family eat healthy by getting involved in the grocery shopping and meal planning.

Prioritize Sleep

Getting enough sleep is essential to living a fit lifestyle. Girls who are trying to tone their bodies and lose weight should make sure they get plenty of rest each night. Although it may seem like sleep is unimportant, it is actually one of the key factors in staying fit.

Sleep is crucial for your body’s recovery, as it is when most of your growth occurs. Your muscles heal and your energy stores refill so you can be at your best the next day! You should aim for a solid 8 hours each night. It might seem like that’s hard to achieve, but it’s one of the most important healthy habits of a fit girl.

To live a healthier lifestyle, you should sleep more. You can sleep more by reducing the amount of time you spend on your phone, computer, and television, and by meal-prepping so you don’t have to spend as much time cooking.

It can be difficult to obtain a sufficient amount of sleep, especially if you have a job, are responsible for taking care of younger siblings, or are involved in other extracurricular activities after school. Just as eating healthy and getting enough exercise are important for maintaining good health, so is getting enough sleep.

You need enough sleep so that you can do well in school, work and drive safely, and fight off infection. If you don’t get enough sleep, you may become moody and irritable. Although more research is needed, some studies have shown that insufficient sleep may also cause weight gain.

If you are a teenager, you should get 8 to 10 hours of sleep each night.

Find Creative Ways To Get Active

Aside from having a regular workout routine, girls who are fit try to go the extra mile–literally. Instead of taking the elevator, she takes the stairs. Instead of looking for a close parking spot, she parks farther away to burn more calories. Even when she’s just heating up her food, she’s doing body squats in the kitchen!

To get the most out of your workout, be creative with your exercises. Individually these exercises may not help you lose much weight, but put together they can lead to significant results.

In order to be healthy, you should strive to be active for at least an hour every day. The majority of that hour should be a moderate or high-intensity aerobic activity, with at least three days a week being vigorous intensity. aerobic activities that make you breathe harder and increase your heart rate include jogging, biking, and dancing.

You can get a moderate workout by briskly walking, jogging, or biking on flat streets or paths. To increase the intensity, you can turn your walk into a jog, or your jog into a run. You can also benefit from your activity by doing it for 60 minutes a day, but you don’t have to do it all at once.

As part of your 60 minutes or more of daily physical activity, you should include muscle-strengthening physical activities, like lifting weights, on at least 3 days a week in order to stay healthy.

Although routine activities such as cleaning your room or taking out the trash may not be as effective as biking or jogging in terms of getting your heart rate up, they are still good ways to keep active on a regular basis.

There are apps available that you can download to help you keep track of how active you are each day.

Have Fun With Your Friends

If you want to be more active but find it hard to do so alone, it may help to do activities with other people, like friends or family members. You could also try joining a sports team or dance club, which could help you make new friends who share your interest in being active. To mix things up, you could choose a different activity to do each day. Some ideas for active activities include kickball, flashlight tag, and walking around the mall. You could also challenge your friends to be healthy with you by signing up for active events together, like charity walks, fun runs, or scavenger hunts.

Many people today spend a lot of their time indoors watching TV, surfing the internet, using social media, or playing video games. Here are other activities to try:

  • Have a jump rope or hula hoop contest.
  • Play Frisbee.
  • Build an obstacle course or have a scavenger hunt.
  • Play volleyball or flag football.

If you can’t go outside or don’t have much time, try going up and down the stairs in your house. You can also find dance and other fitness videos online or on some TV channels. Some routines are only 15 or 20 minutes, so you can do them between homework, going out, or other activities. You can also choose active sports games if you have a gaming system.

Don’t Compare Yourself To Others

Each fit woman has realized that she is one of a kind in her own way, which is difficult to forget. It takes a while to comprehend that other females are not your adversaries. Regarding leading a healthy life, the only person who matters is yourself.

Every person has a different body type, shape, and height. Some people have a “thigh gap” while others do not, and that is perfectly normal. The most important thing is to focus on being healthy, which will lead to happiness and confidence.

There are things that she can do that you can’t, but there are also things that you can do that she can’t. Work on what you can do.

Have A Morning Routine

Dedicated fit girls have a morning ritual that they stick to every day. The morning is a crucial part of the day, and making healthy decisions early on will help you succeed throughout the day. Although every fit girl’s routine is different, they all have one.

It’s important to establish a morning routine where you wake up at the same time everyday and take the time to do things that are important to you such as exercising, eating a healthy breakfast, and writing down what you hope to accomplish for the day. Doing these things will increase the chances of having a smooth and successful day.

Take Your Time

Although it can be tough to change your habits, it is possible to do so with effort and time. The tips below, as well as the checklist under “Be a health champion” can help you stay motivated and achieve your goals.

It’s best to make changes to your eating, drinking, and activity habits slowly, rather than all at once. Making too many changes at once can make it harder to stick to your new habits.

What is preventing you from reaching your goal? Are there unhealthy foods at home that make it difficult to resist? Are the food and beverage options at your school too high in fat and sugar? Can you change these habits?

Some tips to help you lead a healthier life are to set a few achievable goals, like cutting down on the amount of soda you drink. Once you have accomplished that, try to eliminate it from your diet altogether. Another goal could be to be more physically active each day. Once you have reached one goal, you can move on to another.

Having someone to help you stick to your new habits can be really helpful. Talk to a friend, family member, or trusted adult about your goals and see if they’re willing to help you out.
