Ready To Start (Or Add On To) A Family? There’s An App For That

So, the saying “there’s an app for that” just got weirder… Or perhaps even more true, depending on how you look at it it. Wired reporter Sarah Mitroff shared the scoop on a new app.

If you are wanting to up your odds of getting pregnant (or know someone that does) there is a new smartphone app called Ovuline that will track a bunch of physical markers and let you know when your chances are best for conception. How Does It Work?

First, you will take a survey that helps the app to predict your ovulation. This information, along with additional daily entries, is used to give you predictions on when you are most likely to conceive.

Every day there will be reminders to answer several questions about things like body temperature, mood, ovulation test results (you can order a Smart Fertility Kit any time – $50 for a months supply – to get all the supplies needed to gather this data as well as fertility vitamins and personal lube that is sperm-friendly…).

Once you enter this information, it will be compared to a database and turn out recommendations targeted specifically for you so that you can get pregnant faster.

How Likely Is It To Work?

There is even a 6 month guarantee for pregnancy!  If you don’t get pregnant within 6 months, Ovuline will refund your money. Of course, the National average for most women to get pregnant is about 5 months.

However, here’s the good news: most users of the app get pregnant within 56 days of using Ovuline. If you are wanting to get your family going PDQ, this app will speed up the time it takes to get to your goal.

This is a particularly welcome concept (pun intended!) for women who have decided to wait until they are older to start their family, because the possibility of conceiving later in life is less.

After Conception

Users of the app can continue to use it to enter data regarding mood, blood pressure, weight, etc, and get recommendations on healthy actions to take, such as eat more/less depending on your weight.  It can even look for dangerous conditions and alert you that you need to see your doctor.

It costs $50 to buy the app, which gives you the software along with the ability to receive advice from a team of doctors.

Who doesn’t welcome a shortcut in these time-frenzied days?

Oh – and if you DON’T want to get pregnant, it can help you know when the best time is to have one of those girls nights in…
