Today is Marilyn Monroe’s birthday! She would be 87 today, had she not died of a drug overdose in 1962. But her personna lives on, in images
Her life was not an easy one, filled with foster homes, an orphanage, and sexual assaults. She dropped out of school and married Jimmy Dougherty in 1942 at age 16.
While he went off to the Merchant Marines, she went to work at a munitions factory. There she was found by a photographer which led to a successful career in modeling. This was a stepping stone to an acting career.
The rest is history, as they say. She became one of the most famous actresses in history.
You can even find a Marilyn Monroe Facebook page, with almost 6.5 million likes! The legend lives on indeed…
Along the way she has made lots of statements that have been turned into quotes. Some are happy and some are sad; some are funny and some are inspirational. Here are some of our favorites.

AND SAVING THE BEST FOR LAST:
[box type=”shadow” align=”alignleft” ]“I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they’re right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.” ― Marilyn Monroe[/box]
