Looking for Special Valentine Treats? This Will Bring You Kisses

If you are like me, you are starting to look for cool Valentine’s Day ideas now – you want to be prepared with something and not be flailing at the last minute!

This is a really unusual idea that you can try – they look great and are delish! This is something you can make without a lot of extra effort, but they will turn out great and if your Valentine is a chocoholic, they will be VERY impressed.

You can just use a regular chocolate cake mix for the basic cupcake part to make it really easy – or if you are an “I-never-make-anything-from-a-box” kind of person, just use your favorite chocolate cake recipe.

You can find the original Buttercream frosting recipe at http://allrecipes.com/recipe/creamy-chocolate-frosting/.

I usually just make up my own Buttercream frosting recipe, starting with a stick of butter (I nuke it in the microwave for 30 seconds to soften first) and 1/2 cup cocoa to start, then just add powdered sugar until it seems like the right amount.  I use cream rather than milk to get the right consistency, along with a generous teaspoon of vanilla. Yum!

To print out the little tags go to this link – http://www.thetomkatstudio.com/xoxo-chocolate-cupcakes-14-days-of-sweet-valentine-ideas/ You will find the proportions there for the oil and Chocolate chips too – I use either dark chocolate chips or bittersweet, I think they taste better and the darker chocolate COULD be considered a health food!
